Aston Martin’s 110th Anniversary bash will be a year-long celebration of the brand, culminating in the reveal of a new, next-generation model.

Aston Martin is celebrating the company’s 110th anniversary this year, and a big part of the year-long festivities involves the unveiling of several new cars. The British carmaker was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford in Henniker Mews, London, England. 2023 marks not just the 110th year of Aston Martin, it also happens to be the 75th year for the DB line, the 60th for the James Bond favorite, the DB5, and 20th year at the company’s current HQ in Gaydon, England.

Aston Martin says the 110th Anniversary celebrations will include visits to many of the year’s most prestigious automotive events include the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance, the British F1 Grand Prix, Monterey Motor Week, and more.

Nods to the 110th Anniversary will come large and small. Minor notes include the new celebratory logo on Aston’s AMR23 F1 car which now carries a new front-end badge proclaiming “110 Iconic Years.” More significantly, Aston Martin says they will be unveiling a “new, strictly limited, exclusive Aston Martin model,” that represents the “next generation of sports car” sometime later in the year.

While Aston Martin is still playing coy as to what this new model actually is, there has been plenty of speculation. The long-awaited Valhalla was one candidate for the new mystery. As a plug-in hybrid with 4.0L twin-turbo V8, the combination of gas and electric power would have made sense given Aston Martin’s cryptic “next-gen” sport car rhetoric. But the company has said the 1,000-horsepower Valhalla won’t be out until 2024.

Another “new” Aston Martin debuted just last month, the final version of the DBS, the DBS 770 Ultimate. Ultimate is a label Aston Martin reserves for the final iteration of a nameplate, or in their words, “the ultimate finale to a bloodline.”

The DBS 770 Ultimate runs a tuned version of the DBS’s twin-turbo 5.2L V12 engine. This most potent version of the DBS produces 759 horsepower and carries numerous other upgrades including a recalibrated eight-speed automatic, a 25 percent stiffer front end, and a new solid-mounted steering column.

Just 499 examples of the new DBS 770 Ultimate are slated to be built, split between 300 coupes and 199 convertibles. Save your FOMO for another supercar because all 499 units have already been sold.

We will have to wait until Aston Martin is ready to make their official unveiling of their next-gen model sometime later this year. But between the last DBS and the forthcoming Valhalla, we’re sure whatever they mystery car ends up being it will continue Aston Martin’s legacy of speed, style, and, in their words, “scarce exclusivity.”
