Off-roading fun on a budget! That’s what buyers can expect from the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler. Get the latest updates on this brand-new model.

The Rattler is Ready to Roll

Anticipation is building for the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler, one of the expected eight trims in the upcoming 2023 Ford F-150 lineup. It’s being positioned beneath the F-150 Tremor as a more budget-friendly off-road capable choice. The Rattler was first revealed in March, but we just got a few new updates on the truck. As you’ll find out in the details below, the off-roading Rattler will have a desert-inspired theme inside and out.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will come equipped with the FX4 Off-Road Package, which is built off the XL series. It includes skid plates, electronic rear-locking differential, hill descent control, and specially tuned off-road shock absorbers. This package provides increased traction, strong braking, and stability. Though we don’t have specifics on the tires yet, you can tell that they are rugged. Ford says they are all-terrain tires that, “will help with versatility and capability.”

A Solidly Sporty Exterior

Painted 18-inch aluminum wheels separate the sporty 2023 Ford Rattler models from other F-150s. The dual exhaust system not only puts out a bold sound but adds to the rugged styling as well. F-150 Rattler badging stands out on the fender vents. Exterior colors include Oxford White, Avalanche, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Antimatter Blue, Stone Gray, Agate Black, and Rapid Red TriCoat.

An Impressive Interior

Inside the 2023 F-150 Rattler are Onyx seats with detailed seat stitching that should hide dirt and grime pretty well. The coloring matches the trim on the instrument panel. You’ll notice burnished bronze accents that help elevate the entire cabin. The overall vibe of the Rattler is sleek, comfortable, and sophisticated. Knobs are used for temperature controls, volume levels, and radio tuning. There is a 12-volt input for charging. A large touchscreen in the center console is about level with the top of the steering wheel. The photo Ford has released of the Rattler shows a sunglass holder on the roof of the cabin, a couple of drink holders in the center console, volume control buttons on the steering wheel, and at least two USB port for front passengers.

Still on Schedule

Ford said in March that the 2023 F-150 Rattler should be available for orders this fall. That’s still the official timeline, but some people believe car shoppers could be able to start placing orders as soon as July.

Exact pricing for the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler hasn’t been announced yet, but a 2022 F-150 Tremor has a MSRP of $53,085, so the Rattler should be below that price point. For reference, the base 2022 Ford F-150 XL starts at $30,495. The Rattler price point should be a little closer to the F-150 XL than the F-150 Tremor.
