What is New for the 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Now in its fourth year of the WS-series Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, the Grand Wagoneer is distinguished by an altogether higher level of standard tech and features and comes with a lineup of four exciting trim packages. Speaking of excitement, the clever straight-six drivetrain might not be a HEMI, but it sure makes power like one. A total of up to 75 inches of real estate dedicated just to screens is a stat almost as impressive as 500-plus horsepower.

For 2025, the Grand Wagoneer lineup is separated into a base trim, an Obsidian trim, and a special Series III trim with its own Obsidian-themed sub-trim for an uber-posh driving experience. Let’s break it down, trim by trim, to see which one’s right for you.

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Powertrain 8.25/10

Pay no mind to the hordes of Mopar faithful that bellyache about the end of the line for the HEMI V8 in the Grand Wagoneer. The three-liter twin-turbo Hurricane straight-six standard nowadays is just as good, if not better.

The Quadra-Trac AWD system gives a center console-mounted knob called the Selec-Terrain dial. It’s similar to other competitors with Mud/Sand, Rock, and Sport settings and can be adjusted while in motion. You’ll also have the Jeep settings of low-speed gearing and hill-descent control for those steep grades.

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Interior 9/10

There’s no getting around it, the Grand Wagoneer is simply massive. Its standard wheelbase of 123 inches and an overall length of 214.7 inches make for pretty favorable interior space figures. Second-row passengers are treated to 42.7 inches of legroom and 36.6 in the third. That’s more space in the very back of this enormous SUV than some smaller ones have in the second row. If a key tenet of a luxury vehicle is space, you have it and then some.

That’s proven in the 96.9 total cubic feet of cargo space you’re allotted when both rear rows of seating are stowed away. When paired with the considerable towing capability this Jeep touts, you really could carry 10,000 lbs of stuff in both the cabin and in a trailer behind it. Of course, quality Nappa, Palermo, and quilted Palermo leather are used throughout the cabin, depending on the specific trim.

It’s the Series III trim that nets the highest-quality leather, polished walnut wood trim pieces, and supple suede headliner, and likely the most desirable trim as a result. Though seat upholstery quality’s been a pet peeve of past Jeeps, it’s fair to say the Grand Wagoneer is the exception. With seating for up to eight, if optioned with a bench seat in both rear sections of seating, the whole family can come along.

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Tech and Features 9/10

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer - jeep.com

Jeeps used to be behind the competition in the high-end luxury space. That feels like ages ago, and it’s all thanks to a cabin loaded with screens. 75 total available inches of screen real estate is spread out between the first and second rows.

The 12-inch center touchscreen is met by a 10.3-inch HVAC control screen right beneath it. Behind the front row, two 10.1-inch rear-seat entertainment screens with built-in Amazon Fire TV, each second-row occupant can pick their own movie or TV show. Even the front-row passenger has their own 10.25-inch display, now a staple feature of Jeep’s high-trimmed mid- and full-size luxury SUVs.

iOS, Android, and Amazon Alexa connectivity is available through Jeep’s Uconnect 5 system. Through their Active Driving Assist driver aide suite, you get goodies like hands-free driving assist, active lane management, blindspot monitoring, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and adaptive cruise control. The available Fam Cam lets front-row parents keep watch on young children over long car rides.

A McIntosh MX1375 premium stereo system with integrated subwoofer champions the upper trims. Plus, because it’s a Jeep, the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System comes right out of the box with mud, rock, snow, sand, sport, and auto modes to apply as needed on your journeys.

2025 Grand Wagoneer Trims & Pricing

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (base) - jeep.com

Grand Wagoneer (Base) – $84,945

It’d be a crime to call this the base trim, but a trim name the same as the vehicle itself might lead to some confusion, so consider this the entry point to the range. You get all the great features and comforts of the Grand Wagoneer, but with a slightly lesser grade of leather and audio unit. The clever front console cooler box, plus some of the fancier driver assistance features, are omitted as well.

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Obsidian - jeep.com

Obsidian – $98,945

Blacked out interior and exterior trim pieces let you know right away when the Obsidian-trimmed Grand Wagoneer pulls up beside you. Feature-wise, it’s not all that different from the trim before it. But it’s enough to look baller when it counts.

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III - jeep.com

Series III – $107,945

The most prestigious and luxurious Jeep, some would argue, since the dawn of the brand itself. It has the highest-quality leather and the most screen saturation. In short, it’s a mobile fortress.

2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III Obsidian - jeep.com

Series III Obsidian – $109,540

Much the same as the trim before it, but with the same Obsidian trim to match the lower of the two trims. It’s the Grand Wagoneer’s flashiest form, and that’s saying something.

Overall Value 8/10

Kudos to Jeep for trying to go upmarket in earnest. The results are spacious, the engine is peppy and quick, plus the tech factor is off the charts. Make no mistake; you are trading real-world MPGs for the power and towing the Grand Wagoneer has on tap. And the required use of premium fuel adds to the pain in the wallet.

This is undoubtedly a luxurious and capable 4×4. But whether it truly rivals its competition in refinement and value is still uncertain. It checks the boxes for space and speed. When it comes to fuel economy, the Grand Wagoneer falls short.

Overall Score 8.5/10

It’s tough to say for certain whether you should pick a Grand Wagoneer over a Navigator, Range Rover, or an Escalade. Certainly, you’ll be paying roughly the same price for all three respective luxury SUVs. But the Grand Wagoneer’s carved enough of a niche with its off-road capability, plus its very solid luxury, that it’s worthy of your consideration

Only after he acquired a degree in journalism did his penchant for scouring the internet at two in the morning to learn cool but useless facts about cars, airplanes, spaceships, and computers become remotely useful. But now, Benny has experience under his belt that journalists twice his age can't claim. This includes live coverage at major North American international auto shows, racing events, NASA space launches, and a portfolio of test drives and reviews from major OEMs in both the automotive and powersports sectors. As of recent, he's even started covering nuclear energy news as a special beat project, just for the kick of it. The point is, there's nothing Benny's afraid to write about. But he's more than happy to apply his craft to give some genuinely helpful consumer advice.
