What is New for the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer

After debuting in 2022, updates over last year’s Jeep Wagoneer are relatively minor. 20” wheels, a lane-keeping system, and adaptive cruise control are all now standard, while power-folding side mirrors have been made available. The Wagoneer has a history going back to the 1960s and has always been a favorite of those looking to haul lots of people and cargo.

These days, the Wagoneer can be had in standard or extended length “L” variety, much like the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban siblings. There is also a Grand Wagoneer that dials up the lux into Cadillac territory, but even the regular Wagoneer is nicely appointed and it’s packing a potent “Hurricane” twin-turbo power plant.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Powertrain 8.5/10

2025 Jeep Wagoneer - jeep.com

Every 2025 Wagoneer is powered by the same “Hurricane” engine, a 3.0L twin-turbo straight-6 making 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to an 8-speed automatic that powers the rear wheels. Four-wheel drive is a $3,000 option, or you can get it standard on Overland and Series III models. Jeep offers two different 4×4 systems, with increasing levels of capability to keep up the Jeep reputation for going off-road with ease.

In two-wheel drive guise, the Wagoneer earns 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. Those figures each drop by 1 mpg for 4WD models. It’s worth noting that base Wagoneers have a 30-gallon gas tank, which translates to more than 700 miles of highway range. Towing capacity is another Jeep Wagoneer high point at 10,000 pounds for all trim lines. A load-leveling rear suspension comes standard, while higher-spec Wagoneers feature an air suspension that enables higher ground clearance and the promise of a cushier ride.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Interior 9.25/10

In regular form, the 2025 Wagoneer is a behemoth with seating for 7 or 8, 43” of second-row legroom and 37” in the third row, plus 117 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row. Opt for the truly gigantic L model, which adds $3000, and you have a serious Suburban competitor with its 131 cubic feet of maximum cargo space.

Regardless of model, the latest Wagoneer is quite nice inside with active noise control tech and acoustic laminated front glass keeping the din down, standard leather upholstery, and climate-controlled front seats. A heated steering wheel is also on the roster of standard content, while models like the Overland offer second-row captain’s chairs and a triple-pane panoramic moonroof.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Technology Features 8/10

2025 Jeep Wagoneer - jeep.com

Jeep fits every new Wagoneer with a fully digital 10.25” instrument panel, a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, and wireless smartphone mirroring. A Wi-Fi hotspot and Amazon Alexa are also on hand, but the bumping McIntosh 19-speaker audio system requires an expensive package even for the range-topping Series III trim line.

The list of standard advanced driver-assistance aids on the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, a lane-keeping system, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sonar. The IIHS awarded the 2024 Wagoneer its Top Safety Pick rating, but over at the NHTSA, the big Jeep comes in a 4 out of 5 stars overall, due in part to its 3-star rollover rating.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Series II- jeep.com

Series II – $63,945

The Series II model features rain-sensing wipers, remote engine start, ambient cabin lighting, and upgraded Nappa leather upholstery. It also comes with heated second-row seats and the option for 22” wheels and a panoramic moonroof.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Carbide - jeep.com

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Overland - jeep.com

Overland – $72,740

Like the name implies, Overland models are set up to go off-road with standard 4WD, all-terrain tires, semi-active dampers, and Jeep’s Quadra-Lift air suspension. These Wagoneers also offer a two-tone paint job and come with a self-parking system.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Series III - jeep.com

Series III – $73,945

Atop the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer hierarchy is the Series III. It comes with 4WD, a surround-view monitor, a head-up display, a driver attention monitor, and traffic sign recognition. For $5,995, you can add the Premium package with its McIntosh audio system, 22” rims, power-deployable running boards, and upgraded floor mats.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer Overall Value 8/10

Given how highly equipped it is, the base 2025 Jeep Wagoneer trim is the one to get as it also manages to squeak in under $60,000. That price point undercuts the base Ford Expedition by thousands and the Jeep can tow an extra 1,000 pounds from a powertrain that is very similar to the Ford. One area the Expedition has the Wagoneer beat is its more impressive infotainment screen setup. However, while Ford and Jeep both include 3 years of basic warranty coverage and 5 years on the powertrain, only Jeep throws in 3 years of complimentary maintenance too.

Jeep has a strong full-size SUV contender in the 2025 Wagoneer. Like all its rivals, the Wagoneer is outrageously gigantic, but if you can’t stomach a minivan, there’s nothing like one of these land yachts when it comes to toting around many people and all their things. $60,000 is the typical entry price point in this arena and the Jeep does an excellent job of including a long list of creature comforts for that outlay.

The 10” central touchscreen is dwarfed by the nearly 18” unit in the Chevy Tahoe and it can get pricey at the top of the range. However, the cost and challenges in a tight parking lot are par for the course with vehicles of this dimension, so really, it’s just nitpicking.
